Description
Bathysphere 100 GMT
Although it draws inspiration from our original 1970 design, the Bathysphere GMT is a thoroughly modern watch, with a 42 x 49 x 13 millimeter case CNC machined out of a solid block of German 316L surgical stainless steel. The caseback and crown screw tightly down to ensure a water resistance of 1,000 meters (3,333 feet) and, should you find yourself in a helium-enriched diving bell, the case is equipped with an automatic gas relief valve nestled between the strap horns at 12:00.
The steel bezel is topped with a scratch-resistant and luminescent ceramic timing ring and precisely ratchets through 120 positions, allowing you to time everything from decompression stops to pizza deliveries.
Inside ticks a self-winding Swiss movement, the ETA 2893-2, which drives hours, minutes and sweep seconds, a quickset date function, and a GMT hand that allows for tracking of a second time zone when used in conjunction with the 24-hour scale on the dial.
Befitting a capable watersports watch, the Bathyscaphe 100 GMT comes fitted with a 22-millimeter ISOfrane rubber strap with stainless steel Aquadive-signed buckle.
The Bathyscaphe 100 GMT is limited to 500 pieces (of each color) and the individual number is engraved on the caseback.

I bought this staggering watch after a long search for a vintage style diver and having read a number of very positive reviews of both Aquadive and their products, I decided to order the Bathyscaphe. CS and delivery were perfect – hats off to Ben who answers emails at the speed of light – no nonsense approach, all inquiries answered almost immediately. The Bathyscaphe is a watch which needs some time on the wrist to be fully appreciated. The purist design expresses the 70’s style without any halfhearted attempts to modernize it. It doesnt need to be improved – it is not a simple homage to the 70’s, it is a tribute to the the golden era of dive watches.
The attention given to detail, the overall finish of the watch are absolutely staggering. Aquadive seems to firmly adhere to the saying “the devil lies in the details” – after a few days with Bathscaphe the only word that comes to mind is flawless.
Although a little top-heavy the watch is very comfortable to wear, mainly due the the wide case that gently “clings” to the wrist, while the slightly conical bezel gives the watch a light and compact feel.
Overall I would like to express my deepest admiration for the passion and commitment Aquadive put into this piece of horological art. Through quality and masterclass workmanship Aquadive will probably have a number of devoted cutomers for whom one Aquadive is definetely not enough…a feeling I am already experiencing.
