The Isofrane strap is my most comfortable strap, which is surprising given how thick it is but I wear it most easily all day. I wouldn’t notice it at all if it didn’t look so good. I’ve long known about Isofrane straps as the classic for Diver watches, but didn’t realize how good it looks on other kinds of sport watches too, such as aviators. (I recommend the RS or RS DLC buckle because the deeply bent tang accommodates the strap’s thick rubber and allows it to sit flat and follow the curvature of your wrist without distorting the rubber around the tang.) Because my activity and exercise practices combine with work, I’ve been looking for a waterproof strap to wear through the whole day. Nato straps in nylon fabric work ok, but they have to dry after they get soaked, they stain and show wear, and they’re a specific style you need a break from. All the other rubber straps I’ve tried are either weak and fall apart (silicone), or they look too aggressive to wear with business casual dress. The Isofrane not only looks exactly right on a Diver, but it looks good on other watches too, while being elegant and classic enough to wear through the day in different settings. What is surprising is the comfort. Well worth it, and I wish I hadn’t waited to try the Isofrane.
